The Statement

A statement from The 8647 Coalition

An authoritarian oligarchickakistocracy.

Two ways to read it. The long read walks you through it. The case lays out the exhibits. Raw keeps our language; clean is safe for work, school, and your family group chat.

Say it out loud. Wear it.
8,647 numbered red hats, never restocked. 33% of every hat goes to the cause.

Let's stop pretending this is normal. The people running this country won't be checked, they're bought and paid for, and most of them couldn't run a fucking lemonade stand. There's a name for that. It takes three words, and we're going to walk you through every one of them, with receipts.

We don't use big words to sound smart. We use them because they're accurate. Every claim below is dated and sourced on The Record. If we can't prove it, it isn't here.

Part one

Authoritarian.

Power that refuses to be checked.

An authoritarian government doesn't announce itself. It just stops asking permission.

Jun 2025 to Dec 2025
Sent the National Guard and Marines into Los Angeles and Washington, and ordered troops toward Portland and Chicago, over the objections of the people who run those cities. Courts stopped Portland and Chicago before troops reached the streets. Record
Nov 24, 2025
Installed the president's former personal lawyer, with no prosecutorial experience, as a U.S. Attorney to indict James Comey and Letitia James. A federal judge ruled the appointment unlawful and threw out both cases. Record
May 9, 2025
His top immigration adviser said they were “actively looking at” suspending habeas corpus, and that “a lot of it depends on whether the courts do the right thing or not.” Record
Jul 29, 2025
Whistleblowers say a senior Justice Department official told lawyers they might need to tell the courts “fuck you.” He denies it. The Senate gave him a lifetime seat on a federal appeals court anyway. Record
Jan 20, 2025 and Oct 2026
Pardoned about 1,500 people charged over January 6. This month, said he'd consider pardoning his own officials before he leaves. Record
Oct 2026
Filed more than 200 cases to strip citizenship from naturalized Americans, with 250 the stated target by the end of October. Record
Feb 28, 2026
Started a war with Iran without a vote of Congress. Record
Apr 2026
Indicted a former FBI director over a photo of seashells spelling out 86 47. Record

What it costs you: the right to say no. Courts, Congress, the press, a jury, a governor, a grand jury. Every check on power is a check on them, and they treat every one of them as an enemy. Call it what it is: a goddamn hostage situation.

Part two

Oligarchic.

Government of the richest few, run for the richest few.

Follow the money and it leads to the same few hundred people every time.

Mar 2025
Twelve billionaires in the administration, worth $390.6 billion combined: the wealthiest White House in modern history. Record
2024 cycle
Elon Musk put $294 million into electing Trump and other Republicans. The other billionaire appointees and their spouses gave more than $52 million. Record
2025
A Cabinet worth $7.5 billion, 64 times the one before it. Record
Jul 2026
The president took in $1.4 billion from family crypto ventures in 2025, the most he has made in any year of his life, while his administration loosened the rules on crypto. Record
May 2025
Hosted a private dinner for the top 220 holders of his memecoin. An Abu Dhabi state fund moved $2 billion through his family's crypto company. Record
May 2025
Accepted a $400 million jet from Qatar's royal family, meant for his personal use and then his presidential library. Record
Jan to Feb 2026
The Commerce Secretary's sons run the firm that was lead placement agent on a deal his department agreed to fund with $1.6 billion. The same firm explored betting that the tariffs he championed would be struck down. Record

What it costs you: a seat at the table. A nurse pulling double shifts can pay a higher tax rate than a billionaire. Your representatives answer to whoever paid, and you didn't pay enough. So you get fucked.

Part three

Kakistocracy.

Government by the people least fit to run it.

From the Greek kakistos: worst. Diplomas have nothing to do with it; most of these people have them. Look at who got handed which job, and what they did with it.

Mar 2025
The Secretary of Defense sent the timing of a strike on Yemen, including when manned U.S. aircraft would be in the air, over Signal from his personal phone. The Pentagon's own Inspector General found it put the mission and the troops at risk. He called the report a “total exoneration.” Record
Sep 2, 2025
The Washington Post reported he ordered everyone aboard a suspected drug boat killed. Two survivors clinging to the wreck died in a second strike. He denies giving the order. Record
Jun to Sep 2025
The Health Secretary fired every member of the CDC's vaccine advisory committee, fired the CDC director less than a month into her job, and told a Cabinet meeting that Tylenol in pregnancy causes autism, citing a TikTok video. Record
Mar 2026
The Homeland Security Secretary was fired after telling senators the president approved a $220 million ad campaign starring her. He said he didn't. Her department also bought more than $300 million in private jets. Record
Feb 2026
The FBI Director flew the government jet to watch his girlfriend at a wrestling event while firing agents with decades on the job. Record
Jan 2026 to Jun 2026
The Director of National Intelligence was cut out of planning the Maduro operation, then resigned. The Attorney General was removed. The Homeland Security Secretary was fired. All inside eighteen months of taking office. Record
Jan 2026
Two U.S. citizens shot dead by immigration agents in Minneapolis within weeks: Renee Good, a mother of three, and Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse. Record

What it costs you: lives. When the least fit hold the most power, people get hurt, and in Minneapolis two Americans died. Incompetence with a badge and a gun is a fucking emergency.

Put the three words together.

Power that won't be checked, paid for by the richest few, handed to the people least fit to use it. That's the country we're living in right now, and you're paying for it: tariffs the Supreme Court struck down after you'd already paid them, an Education Department cut nearly in half, $2.35 billion in checks to seniors timed four weeks before an election, and government ads promoting the president that he won't pay back.

This is a fight between autocracy and democracy.

We know which side we're on.

Here's what you can do. Read the Record. Sponsor a hat; a third of every one goes to the fight. Vote on where the money goes starting January 20. Vote in every election you're allowed to, starting November 3. And tell every one of these fuckwits the same thing: you're 86'd.
